Speaking of the categories, their sports category is the best in the competition. Whether you like watching basketball or soccer, DirecTV will have you covered with its big list of sports channels.
The streaming quality is great as well, but only if you have a reliable internet connection. For example, when I switched to Optimum Internet after moving to a new home, the streaming quality took a jump from a mere 480p to 1080p. I didn’t even realize it was capable of that. It offers free DVR, that too unlimited, but the recording stays in the cloud for nine months. It might sound off, but it is actually great. The rest of the competition offers limited DVR storage with just one month of recordings available.
Apart from the DVR and its storage, YouTube TV is the pioneer of the PBS network. Then Hulu and SlingTV followed. YouTube TV has a clean interface that is easy to navigate. You also get surround sound with the live streaming.

Sling TV
If you are on a tight budget and need to cut the cable cords, SlingTV is going to be a tailor-made choice for you. Starting at around 20 bucks a month for the first month (please note that this is the introductory price that will increase in the second month to $45).
SlingTV has expanded its market and offers two distinctive packages. One of them is the SlingTV Blue, and the other one is Orange. Both overlap when it comes to the channels, but they have some different offerings as well.
For example, the Orange has Fox and Discovery networks, while the Blue one offers ESPN and Disney. Apart from these networks, Blue and Orange are more or less the same.
SlingTV also has a better interface that is user-friendly. The only thing I don’t like about SlingTV is that it offers a limited 50 hours of DVR recording, very unlike its competitors that offer unlimited. Apart from that, I like the overall experience with SlingTV.
My Choice
If you ask me for a recommendation, the easiest choice that I can recommend is SlingTV. It is affordable and offers fundamentally every channel that is the most sought after, and in an acceptable streaming quality. If you can live with limited DVR, SlingTV is going to be perfect for you.
