Why does a business need GST registration?

GST registration not only helps in getting your business recognized as a legal registrant but also opens up many opportunities for your business. The benefits of an GST registered business are at a glance:-

  • Be more competitive:- You will be more competitive than your unregistered competitors because you will have valid tax registration.
  • Expand your business online:- You can use Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Shopify, or your website, you will need a GSTIN.
  • Can take Input Tax Credit: Only registered GST holders can take advantage of input GST tax paid on their purchases and save costs.
  • Can sell all over India without any restriction:- Without GSTIN you cannot do interstate business. This can be only possible if your business is registered under GST.
  • Apply for Government Tenders:- Various government tenders require GSTIN to apply for the tender. If you don’t have one, you may miss a business opportunity.
  • Open Current Bank Account:- Especially, in the case of sole proprietor business banks and financial institutions do not open a current bank account in the name of a business trade name unless you hold any government proof in the business name.
